LEBANON, Ohio -- A man arrested in suburban Chicago is accused of gross abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence involving a skeleton found in southwest Ohio in 2007.
Warren County Prosecutor Rachel Hutzel in Ohio says 40-year-old Ermek Abdildaev was arrested Wednesday in Lake Forest. She says the former Ohio man is accused of assisting in the disposal of the body of Russian immigrant Aleksandr Alferov (AL'-fuhr-rahv).
Thirty-two-year-old Alferov was living in Cincinnati when he went missing in 2000 along with $27,000 from his bank account. A skeleton police found in 2007 in Warren County's Hamilton Township was recently identified as his. Authorities believe he was killed by blunt force.
Hutzel says Abdildaev will be returned to Ohio to face charges.
