Virtual visit to France

Learn about Geneva's Sister City, Croissy-sur-Seine, France, at 7:30 tonight at the Geneva History Center, 113 S. Third St. Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for center members and children. Wine, cheese and refreshments will be provided.

Local foods in winter

The Community Winter Market, sponsored by Geneva Green Market NFP, starts this week. It is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays inside Inglenook Pantry, 11 N. Fifth St., Geneva. Featured producers are Curd and Whey Cheese Shop, Erehwon Farm Esther's Place, Farm-Direct Black Angus, Grandma's Farm Fresh Eggs, Hasselmann Family Farm, Inglenook Pantry, Robinson Family Farm, Stojan's Vegetables, Tomato Mountain Farm, Twin Gardens and Webb Family Farm.

Geneva Chamber fete

The Geneva Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner and Awards Night is from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Eagle Brook Country Club, 2288 Fargo Blvd. in Geneva. Tickets are $45. Call (630) 232-6060 to make reservations.

Write to servicemen

Learn to write letters to servicemen, at a Brown Bag Lunch talk at noon Tuesday with Sarah Giachino, co-chairman of Fox Valley Troop Support Inc. She will also discuss how to send care packages. Air Force band on tap

The Falconaires, a division of the U.S. Air Force Academy Band, will hold a free performance at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Hemmens Cultural Center. The 18-member Falconaires is one of the Air Force's two top jazz ensembles and plays a mix of traditional and contemporary big band jazz. The event is free, but tickets are required. Delnor ball Nov. 14

The Delnor Auxiliary has "The Diamond Celebration: A Past to Cherish, A Promise to Fulfill" ball Nov. 14 at the St. Charles Country Club. Tickets are $175 each; black-tie dress is optional.
