Aurora firefighters snuffed out a pallet fire at the Interstate Pallet Company in the 1400 block of Mitchell Road at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aurora fire officials said.

Dep. Chief Mark Lockwood of the Aurora Fire Department said no one was injured in the fire which started inside a trailer that is designed to heat-treat pallets for the purpose of overseas shipping.

Lockwood said there are no controlled flames inside the trailer, but said burners under the trailer heat the air and wood inside.

Lockwood said the blaze was brought under control within 30 minutes, but said the scene could not be completely knocked down until smoke cleared from the building.

The fire remains under investigation, and no cause has been determined. No damage estimate is available, Lockwood added.
