The public is invited to attend CASA Kane County's upcoming conference, "Unintentional Intolerance", featuring speaker Steven Robbins. The conference will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, at Piper's Banquets in Aurora.

Robbins' concept of "Unintentional Intolerance" has captured acclaim from numerous audiences and organizations across the United States. Robbins challenges individuals and organizations to be more open-minded, mindful and intentional about inclusion and valuing people for their gifts, abilities, and experiences.

According to Robbins, "Diversity is sometimes about counting people. Inclusion is always about making people count."

Robbins' life experiences as an immigrant growing up in poverty to becoming a passionate advocate of justice and inclusion create a foundation of insight and inspiration. He uses storytelling, humor and an extensive knowledge of the issue to both challenge and encourage his audiences.

This conference will be beneficial to any person or organization wishing to broaden its own diversity or more effectively capitalize on the diversity that already exists within its walls.

The conference fee is $75 and includes continental breakfast, lunch and refreshments. Continuing Education Credits have been arranged with Northern Illinois University. Register online at www.casakanecounty.org.
