A few more election filings for Cook County trickled in late this week, even as one big name remained out there.

Sylvester Baker Jr., of Chicago, filed to run for sheriff in the Democratic Primary, and Sean Morrison of Palos Park filed on the Republican side in the suburban 1st District for the Board of Review. Robert Grota of Chicago filed to run for assessor on the Green Party ballot.

Yet to file is County Board President Todd Stroger. Speculation is that he'll file just before the deadline at 5 p.m. Monday to get the bottom spot on the ballot, widely considered next-best to getting the hotly contested top spot when it comes to swaying undecided voters in the booth.
