The Kane County State's Attorney's office is targeting impaired drivers this Halloween weekend with its fourth "No Refusal" crackdown.
The operation gives police the ability to get court orders to test drivers who are suspected of driving under the influence but refuse a sobriety test. Those who refuse the court order can be charged with additional offenses, such as obstructing justice and contempt of court.
Officials won't say which local police agencies are participating, but the crackdowns are set for early Saturday, late Saturday and early Sunday.
This is the fourth "No Refusal" since Kane County State's Attorney John Barsanti launched the effort last year. Previous operations took place around holidays in Elgin, the Tri-Cities and unincorporated areas.
Authorities say they expect Halloween to be busier than usual.
