College, students and their parents are invited to MCC Night 2009 from 5:30 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, at McHenry County College in the Commons area and adjacent hallways in Building A.
Following this year's theme of "Chart Your Course at MCC," students can navigate through the unchartered waters of college degree programs, financing college, transferring beyond MCC, athletics and more. Visitors can get all the information they need in just one visit.
More than 40 programs will be featured, including MCC's new culinary management program with demos and tasty samples. Other MCC departments with featured presentations will include Automotive, Art, EMS/Fire Science, Digital Media and Health and Human Performance and the MCC Fitness Center.
Plus, a free preview performance of MCC's fall play, "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof," will be presented at 7:30 p.m. in the Black Box Theatre in Building D.
Students and parents can receive information on financial aid, advising/career services, special needs services and athletics. Music will be provided by the MCC Jazz Ensemble and light refreshments will be available.
High school juniors are also invited to attend and learn about MCC's High School Plus program. By either visiting the booth or attending a special workshop, juniors will hear how this program can help them earn college credit while still attending high school.
In addition, adults interested in returning to school for a degree, professionals in need of additional skills training and individuals who want to take enrichment classes are welcome to attend MCC Night.
MCC Night is free and open to the public and the MCC application fee will be waived for the first 250 high school seniors who apply to MCC for fall 2010.
