The adult, children and youth choirs at St. Margaret Mary Parish will join Feargal and Breda King in a contemporary Christian benefit concert for Haiti at 7:30 p.m. today at the church, 119 S. Hubbard St., Algonquin. Special musical guest will be Chicago gospel singer Cherisse Ellis.

All donations will benefit Catholic Assistance Missions and their work in the mountain village of L'Espinasse, Haiti, and the Missionaries of Charity in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

Haiti, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, will receive 100 percent of the funds raised at this event. Local volunteers from St. Margaret Mary Church and several other McHenry County Catholic churches travel to Haiti to volunteer where needed; feeding the poor, building homes, schools, cisterns, purchasing animals, improving local infrastructure and aiding small family businesses. These volunteers will be on hand to share their experiences and stories. This praise-filled evening should be uplifting and inspiring as the adult choir, youth choir, Heavenly Voices and Joyful Noises choirs perform. Irish duo Feargal and Breda King will share their special style of music as well.

T-shirts, CDs and refreshments will be available the evening of the concert. For information, visit catholicassistancemission.org, saintmargaretmary.org or kingsfold.com.
