Opening shot: "This was not a football game, this was a massacre." - Doug Buffone on his postgame show on WSCR 670-AM.

Could not have said it better.

Manic Monday: Bears against the Bengals = blowout. Bears against the Bangles = who knows?

That's a relief: At least we can rest comfortably knowing Lovie Smith is running the defense this season, a defense that allowed former Bears castoff Cedric Benson to run for a career-high 189 yards.

Tweet beat: Just call Cincinnati receiver Chad Ochocinco (10 catches, 118 yards) Nostradamus. Last Monday, Ochocinco sent the following message to Bears quarterback Jay Cutler via Twitter: "@jaycutler6 tell your defense I'm gonna run circles around them, I'm mad we lost, peanut Tillman is gonna kiss da baby along with the rest."

We're all kissing da baby today.

Three times a charm: If - if the Bears fail to make the playoffs this year, it would mark the third straight season since their 2006 Super Bowl appearance that they've been on the sidelines during the postseason. Discuss.

Da Coach: No truth to the rumor that Mike Ditka is tanned, rested and ready to lead the Bears to the promised land again, though there's no doubt even a Mini Ditka would have this team undefeated thus far.

Good news: Let's end on a positive note: The Bears get to host the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. The Browns are 1-6 and have been outscored 179-72 this season. Woof.
