Bears WR Johnny Knox was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week after returning three kickoffs for 147 yards (49.0 ypr), including a 102-yard touchdown return on the opening kickoff of the second half which gave the Bears a 28-21 advantage versus Detroit last Sunday (10/4). This is Knox's first Player of the Week award.

Knox's 102-yard kickoff return touchdown was the second longest in team history, trailing only a 103-yarder by Hall of Famer Gale Sayers on September 17, 1967 at Pittsburgh. The kickoff return touchdown was the first of Knox's NFL career and the third straight contest in which he reached the end zone after catching seven-yard touchdown passes versus Pittsburgh (9/20) and at Seattle (9/27).

Knox leads the NFL this season with 35.8 yards per kickoff return (nine for 322 yards).

This is the second NFC Player of the Week award this season for Chicago. In Week 3, Lance Briggs was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week after recording eight tackles, two tackles for losses including one sack, an interception and a quarterback pressure in the Bears' 25-19 win at Seattle.
