Mansfield ahead in Bartlett parks race

Longtime Little League coach and volunteer Jim Mansfield was headed for victory Tuesday night in the crowded race for a single four-year seat on the Bartlett Park Board.

With 29 of 31 precincts reporting results, Mansfield had 1,080 votes, according to unofficial tallies. Unsuccessful challengers were Donna Weir with 905 votes, Lori Bottoni with 739 votes, Carolyn Yoemans with 486 votes and Mary Jo Dorman-Wexler with 403 votes.

Uncontested candidates Stephen M. Eckelberry, Lori A. Palmer and Marianne Cordell won six-year terms on the park board.
