All three Naperville City Council incumbents kept their seats in Tuesday's election and will be joined by two newcomers on the council.

With all 117 precincts reporting, unofficial results showed incumbents Doug Krause and Kenn Miller and challengers Paul Hinterlong and Judith Brodhead won 4-year terms. Incumbent James Boyajian won a 2-year seat.

Krause, a real estate broker who has been on the council since 1989, received 6,586 votes followed by Hinterlong, a plumber and pipe fitter serving on the city's plan commission who received 6,217. Miller, president of a consulting firm and a councilman since 2005, received 5,418 while Brodhead, an English professor at North Central College who has sat on numerous city boards, garnered 5,187.

Of those who did not win seats Tuesday, Joe McElroy received 3,538 votes followed by Charles Schneider, Timothy Messer, Patty Gustin, Janet Trowbridge, Kamala Martinez, Ken Bochenski, Raj Durga and Jim DerKacy.

In the race for the 2-year term, Boyajian won with 5,518 votes followed by Kevin Lynch and Bill Eagan. Boyajian is a retired senior executive with Amoco Corp. who has been on the council since 2003.
