• A man was charged at 12:15 a.m. Thursday with the neglect of a child, police said. Thomas M. Kennedy, 44, was arrested at his home at 355 Crestwood Court in Algonquin at 12:15 a.m. Thursday. Kennedy posted a $100 bond and was released with a Dec. 10 court date in Woodstock.
• Polcie arrested a 15-year-old Jacobs High School student on campus Tuesday on a charge of possession of marijuana. The girl, a Carpentersville resident, was referred to the Tri County Area Peer Jury and released to the custody of her mother.
Carpentersville
Police chased a man on foot at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday morning in the area of 15 Oxford after he was suspected of participating in a drug transaction. The man, last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants, was not caught.
East Dundee
• A GMC Jimmy crashed into a utility pole on Williams Place near Haeger Pottery at 12:32 p.m. Friday and rolled over on its side, police said. The street was closed for approximately ten minutes while the wreckage was cleared. The driver sustained only minor injuries and was walking around when police and firefighters arrived.
Elgin
Police said a woman went into the gift shop of the Grand Victoria Casino at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, stole a Prada Tessuto Vitello purse valued at $2,422.50 and then walked onto the riverboat. Security at the riverboat was able to obtain her identification and a suspect was arrested Thursday on the 100 block of Virginia Court in Streamwood. Lakeisha M. Marsh, 24, of 23 W. 140 Court, Riverdale, is charged with felony theft, according to a police report. She was unable to post a $2,500 bond and was taken to the Kane County jail Friday morning. She is scheduled to appear in court next on Nov. 14 at the Kane County Judicial Center.
• A man wanted on a Texas warrant was arrested in Elgin Thursday. Jimmie Grimes, 43, homeless of Elgin, was wanted for parole violation, police said. Grimes in court Friday refused extradition to Texas. He was sent to the Kane County jail Friday where he will be charged with fugitive from justice and a hearing will be set.
Huntley
• Police arrested two teens Wednesday after conducting a drug search at Huntley High School using five drug-sniffing dogs. Amber Wenzel, 18, of 9961 Chatwood, Huntley and a 16-year-old girl were charged with misdemeanor possession of less than 2.5 grams of marijuana, police said. Wenzel is scheduled to appear in court in Woodstock on Dec. 4, the juvenile's court date is set for Dec. 8.
Sleepy Hollow
• Daniel J. Duarte, 21, of 6700 N. Pine Lane, Carpentersville, was charged with driving under the influence, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop at 12:15 a.m. Thursday about a half mile from Randall Road and Joy Lane. Police said a small amount of marijuana and a glass pipe were found inside the car Duarte was driving. He also was cited for expired registration and no insurance, police said. Duarte remained in the Kane County jail early Friday afternoon with an $800 bond. His next court date at the Kane County Judicial Center had not been set.
