Chris Kachiroubas won another term Tuesday to lead Illinois' second-busiest circuit clerk's office.
With 730 of the 732 precincts unofficially reporting, the Republican emerged victorious for a second term with more than 56 percent of the vote against Democrat Stan Jagla.
Kachiroubas, 53, of Elmhurst said he was seeking re-election to continue his office's technological advances. Among his accomplishments, Kachiroubas said his staff has collected more than $6 million in outstanding debts due to the creation of a compliance department.
Jagla, a 46-year-old Roselle businessman, said he was running to offer DuPage County voters an alternative. It was his second unsuccessful attempt at public office this year. He lost a primary race against Jill Morgenthaler to represent the 6th Congressional District.
