Kane County Recorder of Deeds Sandy Wegman won re-election Tuesday over Democratic challenger Frank Craig.

Wegman, 64, an Elgin Republican, captured 99,948 votes to Craig's 68,882 with all 299 precincts reporting in Kane County and Aurora Township, unofficial results show.

In her bid for re-election, Wegman said her priority for the recorder's office remains providing free and easy access to accurate public documents through the Web and other means.

Craig, 49, of Aurora, said the recorder's office needed fresh leadership and he promised to eliminate "wasteful" spending and increase efficiency if elected.
