The two Republican incumbents held onto their DuPage County Board District 2 seats.

With all 153 precincts reporting, unofficials results show Patrick O'Shea led the four-way race with 36,211 votes and fellow incumbent Brien Sheahan tallied 30,338. Democratic challengers Barbara Dahl and Max Havlick received 29,773 and 20,645 votes respectively.

The 58-year-old O'Shea was first elected to the county board in 1990. The Lombard attorney is chairman of the board's finance committee.

Sheahan was first elected to the board in 2002. The 38-year-old lawyer from Elmhurst emerged victorious from a nasty primary fight against other GOP candidates backed by board Chairman Robert Schillerstrom.

The district includes all or parts of Addison, Elmhurst, Clarendon Hills, Hinsdale, Oak Brook, Oakbrook Terrace, Villa Park, Lombard, Downers Grove and Lisle.
