Republican incumbent Carl Schultz narrowly kept his DuPage County Forest Preserve District 5 seat.

With all 113 precincts reporting, unofficial results show Schultz defeated Democratic challenger Steve Paglia with 52 percent of the vote.

Schultz has been on the forest preserve board since 2002.

The 51-year-old horticulturist from Aurora is pushing for the 2016 Chicago Olympic Committee to consider using St. James Farm Forest Preserve in Warrenville for equestrian events that year if the city is chosen to host the Olympics.

The district includes all or portions of Aurora, Naperville, Lisle and Warrenville.
