Munaretto wins re-election in District 1
Marc Munaretto, a Republican from Algonquin, won re-election in District 1 of the McHenry County Board.
Bob Bless, a Republican from Fox River Grove, also won a seat in District 1, beating out Democratic challenger James McTague of Cary.
Bless earned the most votes, with 10,326, followed by Munaretto with 9,349 votes and McTague with 8,682 votes, according to unofficial totals.
During the campaign, Munaretto pointed to his 10-year tenure on the board, saying he had the experience to help steer the county through choppy financial waters.
"I worked really hard and for the last ten years, I've done a really good job as a county board member, and residents agreed," Munaretto said.
