The man killed while working on his truck in a Lake Barrington garage over the weekend has been identified as Ari Squire.

Squire, 39, was crushed Saturday morning when the pickup truck he was working under on the 28000 block of N. Lakeview Drive, fell on top of him, said Richard Keller, Lake County coroner.

Keller said Squire died immediately from crushing injuries to the chest.

Squire's family could not be reached for comment Sunday.

The Wauconda Fire Department received a call at 8:24 a.m. for smoke coming from Squire's garage.

Police originally thought a fire that occurred inside of the garage killed Squire, but Keller said the man was dead before the fire started.

The fire was under control by about 9 a.m., Wauconda Fire spokesman Paul Gross said. Damage is estimated at $100,000.
