Baseball: Waubonsie Valley, Willowbrook, York win

Waubonsie Valley 2, Metea Valley 1:

Alex Lemmons won the pitchers' duel in a 5-hitter with 7 strikeouts for the Warriors (8-11, 6-3) in the DuPage Valley. Waubonsie Valley rallied with 2 runs in the bottom of the fifth on Max Hayden's 2-run double against Metea Valley (16-3, 4-3).

Willowbrook 9, Addison Trail 0:

Jeremy Conforti doubled and homered for the Warriors (15-3, 10-0) in their West Suburban Gold victory. Jack Hines drove in 4 runs and Sam Tumilty had 3 RBI. Winning pitcher Jack Nilles struck out seven in 6 innings.

York 15, Glenbard West 5:

Trailing 5-3, the Dukes (10-8, 4-4) exploded for 6 runs in the fourth inning and 5 runs in the fifth to win in the West Suburban Silver. Bo Thomas drove in 4 runs while Ian Steinorth, Tyler Cwik and Timmy Bowbin combined for 7 RBI. John Milling was the winning pitcher in relief. Matt Shellady doubled and drove in 2 runs for Glenbard West (8-8, 5-5).

Lisle 5, Sandwich 2:

Complete-game winner A.J. Casmer struck out eight in the Interstate Eight win for the Lions (13-8, 4-4). Anthony Raineri went 3-for-4 with a homer. Connor Nigro had 2 hits and 3 RBI.

St. Francis 13, Aurora Central 3:

The Spartans (13-3) needed only 4 hits to win in five innings. Tom Siurek doubled and drove in 4 runs. Trevor Hicks and Zach Radel had 2 RBI. Ben Radel went the distance on the mound.

Naperville North 8, Romeoville 7:

The Huskies (6-9) trailed 7-6 heading to the bottom of the eighth but pulled out the nonconference win on back-to-back RBI singles by Noah Williams and Jacob Scharm. Zach Dinkel was the winning pitcher in relief.
