Barrington's boys lacrosse team advanced to the sectional semifinal round of the state playoffs by stopping visiting Fremd 15-9 on Monday.
The Broncos, who are the top seed in the Huntley sectional, advance to a 5 p.m. Wednesday matchup against the winner of the St. Charles North/Hoffman Estates matchup scheduled for Monday.
The other semifinal, at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, will feature No. 2 seed South Elgin and No. 3 Bartlett, a 10-9 winner in OT against Huntley on Monday.
South Elgin 12, Schaumburg 5: The second-seeded Storm advanced by eliminating the seventh-seeded Saxons in a matchup at Millennium Field in Streamwood.
