Softball: Dundee-Crown, Rosary notch wins

Deanna Origer doubled in a run then scored on Sydney Ruggles' single in the first inning Monday as the Dundee-Crown softball team won a nonconference game at Grayslake Central 2-0.

Ruggles spun a 1-hitter for the Chargers (17-10), striking out 13 and walking none.

Rosary 2, Oswego 1: Brooke Cappararelli allowed 6 hits in 6 innings and Riley McCue came on for the save as Rosary (7-6-1) won in nonconference action. Peyton Dillon had 2 hits for the Royals.
