Girls lacrosse: CougarHawk tourney brings unique focus

Saturday will mark the second annual CougarHawk girls lacrosse varsity tournament, co-hosted by Conant and Hoffman Estates High Schools.

An eight team-field will be in competition in the matchups, which will be played at both high schools.

This year's tournament will have a special focus, as donations are being sought on behalf of Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School's girls lacrosse program, and a memorial to the students lost on Feb. 14.

The programs runs by coaches Eric Jacobsen (Conant) and Eric Gdowski (Hoffman Estates) will have donation buckets at each school and are eager to accept any contribution.

In addition to the Cougars and the Hawks, teams competing include St. Ignatius, Minooka, Whitney Young, Taft, Wheaton United and Huntley.
