Wolves let early lead slip away vs. IceHogs

The Chicago Wolves built a two-goal lead in the first 20 minutes, but the Rockford IceHogs posted four goals in a row to take a 5-3 Illinois Lottery Cup verdict on Saturday night at BMO Harris Bank Center.

Teemu Pulkkinen scored a pair of goals and Brandon Pirri scored his team-high 27th goal for the Wolves (36-21-7-2) as their seven-game winning streak on the road came to a close. Lance Bouma scored two goals and handed out one assist for the IceHogs (34-25-4-4).

Wolves goaltender Max Lagace (13-5-2) notched 33 saves while Rockford's Collin Delia (13-6-4) also turned away 33 shots.

The Wolves return to the ice at 5 p.m. Sunday when they host the Grand Rapids Griffins on Family Sunday at Allstate Arena.
