Girls golf: Corwin, Jang advance; St. Viator makes state

Schaumburg senior Trinity Corwin and Conant senior Lina Jang will represent the Mid-Suburban West in Saturday's Class AA state girls golf meet at Hickory Point Golf Club in Decatur.

Both qualified as individuals from the Class 2A Wheaton Academy sectional at Pheasant Run Golf Course in St. Charles. Corwin fired an 81 while Jang came in with an 82 to earn her trip to Decatur.

At Stillman Valley: St. Viator took second place in the Class 1A Stillman Valley sectional at Prairie View Golf Course in Byron.

The Lions shot a 375, finishing behind only Rockford Lutheran (332).

Viator freshman Cate Reisinger placed third individually, shooting a 79 behind Rockford Lutheran Natalie Hooper (74) and Rochelle freshman Megan Thiravong (78).

Completing the Lions' scorecard were freshman Paige Klostermann (89), senior Arianna Arthur (101) and junior Caroline Lavender (106).

The Lions advance to the state finals on Friday and Saturday at Red Tail Run Golf Course in Decatur.
