Boomers fall in regular season finale

CRESTWOOD - The East Division champion Schaumburg Boomers completed the regular season by dropping a 6-5 decision to the Windy City ThunderBolts on Sunday night.

Windy City rallied from down 3-0 to tally the walk-off decision in the bottom of the ninth. Schaumburg scored in five consecutive innings, tallying single runs in the third through the seventh. Josh Gardiner lifted sacrifice flies in the third and fifth with Opie Brodbeck contributing a sacrifice in the seventh. Rock Shoulders singled home a run in the fourth with James Keller adding an RBI single in the sixth.

Michael Wood worked 6.2 innings in a no-decision. Kyle Westwood suffered the loss. Shoulders finished with three hits while John Holland, Sean Godfrey and Kyle Ruchim notched two apiece.
