Girls golf: Stevenson edges out Glenbrook North

Freshman Kelly Dong fired a 37, sophomore Joyce Bai had a 38, and Stevenson's girls golf team edged Glenbrook South 164-165 at Vernon Hills Golf Course on Tuesday.

Julia Yoo added a 44 for the Patriots, who also received 45s from Olivia Stomberg and Sophia Zhuang.

Lake County invite: On Monday at Bonnie Dundee Golf Course, Elyse Emerzian shot a winning 72 to lead Deerfield (316) to a one-shot win over Stevenson (317) in the Lake County invitational.

Highland Park (322) and Barrington (337) finished third and fourth, respectively, while Lake Forest and Vernon Hills (347 each) tied for fifth.

Freshmen Maja Mirjanic of Vernon Hills and Bry Hogan of Lake Zurich tied for third with 75s, two strokes behind Barrington junior Nicole Ciskowski, who was runner-up to Emerzian.

Sophomore Joyce Bai led Stevenson with a 76 (fifth place). Her round an eagle on the par-5 fifth hole. Patriots freshman Kelly Dong was seventh with a 78, and she also eagled the fifth hole. Freshman Sophia Zhuang (81) and senior Olivia Stomberg (82) finished 13th and 14th, respectively.

Warren (348) placed seventh and was paced by sophomore Chloe Morrissey's 79 (10th). Junior Danielle Guzman and freshman Sydney Bornhorst each shot an 88 for the Blue Devils.
