Harris homers in Boomers' win over Wild things

The Schaumburg Boomers evened a weekend series with the Washington Wild Things by picking up a 7-4 victory on Saturday night.

David Harris drilled a 3-run homer to right center with two strikes and two outs in the bottom of the first. After a Washington run in the second, the Boomers plated three more in the bottom of the inning to chase the starter and grab a 6-1 advantage. Sean Godfrey notched an RBI-single and Zack Weigel poked a 2-run double in the inning. Washington started to chip away, but the bullpen thwarted any attempt at a rally.

Preston Jamison came off injured reserve to start, working 4 innings and allowing 2 runs in his first start since May 27. Newcomer Alex Luna picked up the win, striking out 6 in 4 innings of relief in his Schaumburg debut. Alec Kenilvort spun the ninth to earn his sixth save. Godfrey directed a 9-hit attack with 3 hits while Weigel added a pair.
