Baseball: Timothy Christian, Naperville Central, Willowbrook win

Timothy Christian 19, Wells 1:

The Trojans (17-10) won in four innings to advance to the Class 2A Timothy Christian regional final. They'll play St. Joseph in the title game at 11 a.m. Saturday. Jimmy Allen, Brian Schiff and Nick Huisman each had 2 hits and combined for 8 RBI. Jonny Strube drove in 5 runs. Winning pitcher Jakob Loerop allowed 2 hits.

Naperville Central 4, Lake Park 2:

Winning pitcher Ryan Eiermann struck out 16 and scattered 3 hits in 6⅔ innings for the Redhawks (20-10, 15-9 DuPage Valley). Jack Hughes, Jack Baxter and Ben Rietz drove in runs. Zach Aehlert homered for Lake Park (13-7, 8-15).

Willowbrook 4, Downers South 3:

Trailing 3-0, the Warriors (23-8, 14-4 West Suburban Gold) scored 4 runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. M.J. Ranieri and Kyle Ferguson drove in a run while Trevor Jaloszynski had 2 hits. Jack Nilles got the win and Scott Kohrt the save.

Waubonsie Valley 3, Naperville North 0:

The Warriors (16-16, 11-13) won in the DuPage Valley despite managing only 2 hits. Complete-game winning pitcher Drew Gray scattered 5 hits, walked four and struck out three.

Addison Trail 15, Morton 2:

Simon Marinelli went 3-for-4 with 3 RBI for the Blazers (12-16, 8-10), who took two of three in the West Suburban Gold series. Winning pitcher Trevor Fulmer, who also had 3 hits, and Mike Scali drove in 2 runs. Jack Kalbas doubled and drove in 3 runs.

Montini 2, Lockport 0:

Complete-game winner Anthony Rogers, who had 2 hits at the plate, pitched a 4-hitter with 3 strikeouts and a walk as the Broncos (17-14) won in the Do It Stevie's Way Tournament. Cooper Hynes and Nick Malik drove in runs.

Wheaton Academy 5, St. Francis 3:

The Warriors (7-14) rallied to victory by scoring 4 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Mike Cortez, Anthony Vavrinchik, Jimmy Paganis and Max Martin had 2 hits apiece while Payton Sowa drove in 2 runs. Jason Poulos was the winning pitcher in relief. Nick Kosmetatos went 2-for-4 with an RBI for St. Francis (10-20).

York 8, Elk Grove 7:

Ian Steinorth won the game for the Dukes (21-10) with a walk-off RBI single that scored Austin Gelsomino in the bottom of the eighth inning. Ryan Ross doubled, tripled and drove in 2 runs. Mike Pastuovic also had 2 RBI while Mike Bernal went 2-for-5. Gelsomino was the winning pitcher in relief.
