Wolves face must-win game against Grand Rapids

Here are the details for Game 5 of the AHL's Central Division Finals.

What: Grand Rapids Griffins vs. the Chicago Wolves

When: Game 5 at 7 p.m. Saturday at Allstate Arena

TV: U-Too

Skinny: The Wolves need to win three games in four days in order to advance to the Western Conference Finals. Hey, if the Cubs come back from a 3-1 deficit, why not the Wolves?

The teams have enjoyed four off-days since Game 4, which should help the Wolves regain the services of a few key players. AHL First All-Star Team center Wade Megan missed Games 3 and 4 in Grand Rapids due to injury, while valuable rookie center Adam Musil has sat for the entire series to date.

Keys for the Wolves: For starters, score the game's first goal. In 13 of this year's 14 meetings between Chicago and Grand Rapids, the team that scored first went on to earn the win.

Also, the Wolves need to stay out of the penalty box. Both teams have earned 18 power plays in this series, but Grand Rapids has cashed in on 5 compared to the Wolves with 3 power play scores. In addition, the Griffins have scored twice moments after a power play ended - before the Wolves could get out of the box and defend at even-strength.
