Baseball: Glenbard North, Glenbard South, Downers North win

Glenbard North 4, Wheaton North 3:

Trailing 3-1 after five innings, the Panthers (11-15, 6-12) scored 3 runs in the bottom of the sixth to win in the DuPage Valley. Anthony Sottile and Zach Heck each had 2 hits. Neel Matiwala picked up the win with 2 innings of relief for starter Francesco Sepede. Erik Mueller homered for Wheaton North (12-12, 10-7).

Glenbard South 13, IC Catholic Prep 2:

The Raiders (9-15, 6-4) broke open the Metro Suburban Conference game by scoring 10 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Robbie McGimpsey, who drove in 4 runs, John McMahon and Billy Powers had 2 hits. Winning pitcher Dan Opem allowed 2 hits in 5 innings.

Downers North 3, Hinsdale Central 1:

Nick Taviani pitched a 5-hitter as the Trojans (16-11, 8-6) won their second straight West Suburban Silver game over Hinsdale Central (16-8, 9-5). Adam Bandola went 2-for-3 and Tyler Rosen drove in a run.
