Montini, Fenton, Willowbrook win

Montini 5, St. Laurence 4:

The Broncos (8-8, 3-5) held off the highly touted Vikings in the Chicago Catholic League. Winning pitcher Anthony Rogers allowed no earned runs in 6-plus innings of work. Ben Steiner came in and got the final two outs to earn the save. Ryan Nelson and Rogers, who went 2-for-4, drove in runs.

Fenton 8, Wheaton Academy 7:

The Bison scored 3 runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to pull out the Metro Suburban Conference victory. After Nick Mercado doubled in 2 runs to tie the game, Jordan Vogel's single scored Mercado with the winning run. Tommy Mach picked up the win in relief of Vogel. Peter Crowe went 3-for-4 with 2 RBI for Wheaton Academy.

Willowbrook 10, Morton 0:

Alec Michaelson pitched a 5-inning no-hitter for the Warriors (10-1, 2-0), striking out four and walking one in the West Suburban Gold win. M.J. Ranieri, Trevor Jaloszynski and Michaelson each had 2 hits and combined for 7 RBI.

Neuqua Valley 2, Waubonsie Valley 0:

James Kulak struck out nine and allowed 4 hits in 6.1 innings as the Wildcats (14-0-1, 8-0) swept in the DuPage Valley. Zach Wenz notched the save. Evan Ranneklev went 2-for-3 and Noah Herdman and Jake Wenz drove in runs. Zach Laws went 2-for-3 for Waubonsie Valley (8-6, 4-5).

Glenbard South 7, Riverside-Brookfield 6:

Trailing 6-5 heading to the seventh inning, Glenbard South (4-6, 3-0) scored twice to top the Bulldogs in the Metro Suburban. Kyle Zygadto doubled in the tying run and Mike Paprota, who was the winning pitcher in relief, was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to score the go-ahead run. Zygadto drove in 3 runs while Paprota and Robbie McGimpsey had 2 RBI.

Glenbard North 5, WW South 1:

With the score knotted 1-1 after seven innings, the Panthers (6-9, 2-7) exploded for 4 eighth-inning runs to win in the DuPage Valley. Winning pitcher John Marron needed only 89 pitches to go the distance. Nick Frawley went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Guissepie Riggio also drove in a run. Griffen Pschigoda and Jared Smaga had 2 hits for WW South (6-9, 3-5).

Naperville Central 11, Metea Valley 1:

The Redhawks (9-5, 5-4) broke out to a 5-0 second-inning lead in their six-inning DuPage Valley win. Josh Boomgarden and Gabe Soria combined for 5 hits and 5 RBI while Kyle Bennington drove in 2 runs. Winning pitcher Charlie Walzer allowed 3 hits in 5 innings.

Naperville North 9, Wheaton North 5:

Jack Whitley doubled twice and drove in 4 runs for the Huskies (4-8, 4-2), who took two of three in the DuPage Valley series. Cliff Vickers and Brennan Simek also had 2 hits. Mark McCabe was the winning pitcher and Matt Schwartz got the save. Drew Atkinson and Jackson Gray went 2-for-3 for Wheaton North (6-7, 4-2).

Benet 12, Nazareth 1:

Tyler Bautista went 5-for-5 with 4 RBI as the Redwings (11-3, 3-0) broke open the East Suburban Catholic game by scoring 7 runs in the top of the seventh inning. Erik Jones drove in 3 runs and Jack Schneider had 3 hits. C.J. Birck notched the win and Jake Young got the save.

St. Francis 11, Bishop McNamara 5:

The Spartans (5-6, 3-1) won in the Chicago Catholic League as Matt Cooney went 2-for-5 with 5 RBI. Nick Kosmetatos and Zach Crescenzo also drove in 2 runs. Nolan Pechan pitched into the fifth inning to get the win.

Addison Trail 16, Proviso East 0:

Simon Marinelli, Mike Scali, Ricky Perez, A.J. Parnell and Jack Kalbas combined for 13 of the 17 hits by the Blazers (5-5, 2-1) in the West Suburban Gold win. Winning pitcher Bobby Daniels struck out eight and allowed 1 hit in 4 innings.

Lake Park 5, Bartlett 1:

Sean Cummins went 2-for-3 with a home run and 3 RBI for the Lancers (7-5). Zach Aehlert had 2 hits and 2 RBI. Four pitchers combined on the mound.

Westmont 7, Sandwich 3:

Joe Donovan went 2-for-3 with a run scored to become the program's all-time leader in hits and runs scored and help the Sentinels (10-7) win in the Interstate Eight Conference. Alex Marotta went 3-for-3 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI. Winning pitcher Malek Mostafa allowed 3 hits in 6 innings.

York 18, Proviso West 5:

Mike Pastuovic went 3-for-4 with 3 RBI and Nick Lee tripled twice and drove in 4 runs for the Dukes (12-2, 5-1) in the West Suburban Silver. Burke Corcoan was the winning pitcher.

Hinsdale South 9, Downers South 4:

The Hornets (9-1, 4-1) opened the West Suburban Gold series with a win over Downers South (9-5, 3-1). Matt Uba and winning pitcher John Colucci had 2 hits and 2 RBI. Nick Stacey went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI for the Mustangs.
