Streamwood house fire spreads to exterior of adjacent home

A house caught fire in Streamwood Thursday afternoon and burned the exterior of the home next to it, officials said.

Fire crews responded to the home on Sieverwood Court at 1:24 p.m., according to a news release from the Streamwood Fire Department. The first crews to arrive reported heavy fire coming from the side of the two-story home, the release said.

The blaze had extended into the attic and the exterior of the home next door, the release said.

Residents of both homes evacuated before the fire department arrived. There were no reported injuries, and damage to the interior of the home next door was limited, officials said.

Total damage is estimated at $200,000.
