Public invited to share input on Buffalo Grove Police Department

A team of assessors from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies Inc. will be in Buffalo Grove next week to assess the police department's policies, procedures, management, field operations and support services as part of an accreditation process.

Department employees and members of the community are invited to offer comments at a public information session from 2to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8. The session will be conducted remotely, and members of the public can call (224) 636-6773 to provide comments to the assessment team during the designated hours.

Contact Deputy Chief Michael Szos at (847) 459-2560 to arrange to view the standards, which are available at the police department, 46 Raupp Blvd.

You can send written comments about the police department to Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies Inc, 13575 Heathcote Blvd., Suite 320, Gainesville, VA 20155.

Accreditation is for a four-year period during which the agency must submit annual reports, as well as participate in remote checks showing continued compliance with standards applicable to the agency.
