Des Plaines officials to talk budget Monday

The Des Plaines City Council will meet remotely at 7 p.m. Monday to discuss the proposed $164 million municipal budget for the 2021 fiscal year and other business.

Spending is projected to decrease due to the economic strain caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, documents indicate. The city's fiscal year starts Jan. 1.

The meeting can be viewed live online at desplaines.org/accessdesplaines and on DPTV Channel 17. The meeting may also be viewed in person at city hall, but attendance will be limited due to the COVID-19 crisis.
