Blood shortage leads to Arlington Heights collection effort

COVID-19 has led to a shortage of blood donations. A community blood drive is being held from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, at Heritage Park, 506 W. Victoria Lane in Arlington Heights.

It is being sponsored by state Sen. Ann Gillespie and state Rep. Mark Walker in conjunction with Versiti Blood Center of Illinois.
