York High student pleads guilty to posting threatening video

A York High School student pleaded guilty Friday to disorderly conduct for making a Snapchat post last September that was taken as a threat to the safety of the Elmhurst school.

The 15-year-old boy will be sentenced Sept. 4.

He is not being named because the case is being heard in juvenile court and the judge has prohibited publication of his name.

On Sept. 16, he posted a video of himself with a long gun and saying "Tomorrow is also a show-and-tell at school and I'm going to have a blast."

Snapchat employees notified the FBI, who identified the teen and notified Elmhurst police.

Police found an air-powered pellet gun at the boy's residence.

He has been on home detention.
