One hurt in Crystal Lake crash

One person was hurt in a crash Saturday night in Crystal Lake and had to be cut out of their car, authorities said.

Two cars crashed around 5:30 p.m. on Pyott Road just south of James R. Rakow Road, trapping one person inside a vehicle, according to Battalion Chief William Whyte of the Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department.

Fire officials took the door off the vehicle to release the person, who was taken to Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital, Whyte said. The person suffered injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening.
