Wheaton man's body found in river

A body discovered in the Illinois River near Starved Rock State Park has been identified as that of a Wheaton man.

According to a news release from the Illinois State Police, the body was found about 2 p.m. Saturday.

After an autopsy, authorities identified the man as Michael J. Warmerdam, 37, the news release said. A cause of death was not indicated.

State police said the investigation continues. Anyone with any information should call Special Agent Novotney at (815) 224-1171. ext 139.
