New general manager arrives at Woodfield Mall

Simon Property Group has named Laurie Van Dalen as the new general manager of Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg.

Van Dalen arrives at Woodfield with two decades of management experience at Simon centers across the nation.

She most recently served as the general manager of Simon's Fashion Centre at Pentagon City in Arlington, Virginia, and before that Southdale Centre in Minneapolis.

During her time with Simon, Van Dalen has received numerous companywide awards for her leadership and community partnering initiatives, officials said.

Van Dalen will now be responsible for overseeing Woodfield's financial, marketing and operational performance.

"Woodfield Mall has long been a shining jewel in the Simon portfolio," Van Dalen said in an announcement of her appointment. "I'm delighted and honored to be here and look forward to working with the existing team to bring a fresh perspective and passion to what is already one of the country's most outstanding shopping destinations."
