Sunday was July 8, not July 4, but that was no reason to stop celebrating the country's independence for the thousands of Bartlett residents and their neighbors from surrounding communities who lined village streets for the community's annual Fourth of July parade.
Dozens of entries ranging from bands, fire trucks and dance troupes to community organizations and local politicians marched along village streets in the two-mile parade that finished at the Apple Orchard Golf Course.
Organized by the Lions Club, the parade highlighted the final day of the village's five-day Fourth of July Festival. Sunday's festivities also included carnival rides, Bag Toss pickup games and musical performances by Crossfire, Johnny Russler & the Beach Bums and 16 Candles.
