Townships and taxes discussion July 17 in Palatine

Townships and taxes will be the focus of an upcoming "Drinks and Discussion" event hosted by the League of Women Voters of the Palatine Area.

Shannon Sohl, CPA and senior research associate at Northern Illinois University's Center for Governmental Studies, and Norman Walzer, senior research scholar in the NIU Center for Governmental Studies, will be the featured speakers.

The event takes place at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, in the downstairs room of Emmett's Brewing Company, 110 N. Brockway, Palatine. There will be one free beer or soft drink per person.
