League of Women Voters at Palatine brewery

League of Women Voters of the Palatine Area will host the year's first drinks and discussion program Tuesday, June 12. It's set for 7 p.m. at Emmett's Brewing Co., 110 N. Brockway St. in downtown Palatine. The featured speaker will be Jeff Raines, communications and engagement director at the Coalition for Honest and New Government Ethics, also known as CHANGE. The topic will be gerrymandering and fair political maps. Raines will address the affect of the maps and gerrymandering on the political process. Guests will get one free beer or soda, with a cash bar the rest of the evening. The public event is open to all men and women.
