Applicants sought for Ward 7 post in Rolling Meadows
Rolling Meadows residents of Ward 7 interested in becoming alderman have until Friday, June 15, to submit a letter and resume to Mayor Len Prejna.
The vacancy was created after the resignation of Tim Veenbaas on May 22. Veenbaas, who was appointed to the Ward 7 post in 2014 and elected to the seat in 2015, is stepping down because he and his family are moving out of state.
Applications can be sent to the Mayor's Office at City Hall, 3600 Kirchoff Road, Rolling Meadows, IL 60008. Whoever is appointed by Prejna - with the approval of city council members - will serve until the April 2019 election.
Ward 7 roughly runs along Route 53 from the Jane Addams Tollway to just south of Kirchoff Road.
