Mount Prospect board OKs purchase of two ambulances

Mount Prospect trustees recently signed off on the purchase of two new ambulances for the fire department.

Foster Coach will provide the vehicles at a cost not to exceed $605,000. The two new Freightliner M2s will replace existing Ford ambulances.

Officials say the new ambulances will offer advantages including better patient comfort and a power-lift assist stretcher system to help minimize paramedics' exposure to back injuries.
