Fire officials: Vehicle rolled off lift, pinned person at Batavia Walmart

A person was airlifted to the hospital Saturday after being pinned by a vehicle that rolled off a lift at the Walmart auto service center in Batavia, officials said.

First responders were called about 12:47 p.m. to the Walmart at 801 N. Randall Road for a report of someone trapped under a car, according to the Batavia Fire Department. The vehicle had moved forward off a service lift and struck the person, who was freed by the time emergency crews arrived.

The person was given advanced life support treatment at the scene and taken by helicopter to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, a Level 1 trauma center, Batavia officials said. The patient's condition was not immediately available Sunday.
