Montgomery woman killed in Kane County crash on Route 47

A Montgomery woman died Sunday after a crash on Route 47 in Campton Township, according to the Kane County sheriff's office.

Linda Clark, 54, was driving a Honda Civic south on Route 47 near Beith Road about 11:30 p.m. when she apparently crossed the centerline and struck a Toyota Highlander traveling north, police said. Clark, who was the only occupant of the car, died at the scene.

The 29-year-old woman from Hampshire and her 1-year-old son in the Highlander were taken to the hospital. Their injuries are not considered to be life-threatening, police said.

Route 47 between Beith Road and Route 38 was closed until about 4:45 a.m. Monday while sheriff's deputies and the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team investigated the crash, police said.
