'Ending the Silence' of mental health

"Ending the Silence" presentations to shed light on mental health conditions among youths will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday (in English) and May 17 (in Spanish) at the Lake County Health Department, 3010 Grand Ave., Waukegan.

"Ending the Silence" is presented by the National Alliance on Mental Illness Lake County.

The program is for youths 13 to 18, caregivers, and adults who work with youths. It will teach people to learn about the warning signs of mental health conditions and what steps to take if they or a loved one are showing symptoms of a mental illness.

In addition to a presentation, a young adult with a mental health condition will shares their journey of recovery.
