Palatine groups team up to clean Riemer Reservoir

Dozens of volunteers took advantage of Sunday's sunny skies and pleasant temperatures to help make a Palatine landmark a better place to spend such beautiful days in the weeks ahead.

The Palatine Jaycees teamed with the Palatine Park District to sponsor a Community Cleanup Initiative focusing on Riemer Reservoir at the corner of Palatine and Quentin roads.

Volunteers picked up trash, removed invasive species and cleared out other items that didn't belong - including many left-behind golf balls - to beautify the 91-acre park.

Among the other organizations taking part were the Palatine Rotary Club, Palatine Kiwanis Club, Palatine Knights of Columbus, Palatine Sons of the American Legion and Rolling Meadows Rotary Club.
