Palatine pancake breakfast to help homeless vets

The Sons of the American Legion are holding a special pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 14, in Palatine, to support the organization Veterans Exiting Homelessness.

The breakfast will take place at the American Legion Hall, 122 W. Palatine Road.

"We are holding this pancake breakfast to help homeless veterans move off the street with donations of items they will need to set up their new home," said Gerard Iannuzzelli, commander of the Sons of the American Legion. "We will be collecting toiletries, household cleaning supplies, kitchen utensils and other items veterans will need. Proceeds from the breakfast will go to support Legion family charities."

Breakfast includes all you can eat pancakes and French toast, along with sausage, scrambled eggs, fruit, orange juice, coffee and milk. The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children between 4 and 12 years old, and free to children 4 years old and under.
